Lead Vocals Vocalist has been the most stable position for Petra over the last 30 years. There have been 3 Lead Vocalists during this time. We consider the "Lead Vocalist" as the one who is the primary singer for an album, rather than simply a guest for a couple of songs. We do place an exemption on the first 2-3 albums as Bob Hartman & Greg Hough pretty much split the vocalist duties. Our favorite would definitely be John Schlitt. While we do like Greg X Volz, our preference for John Schlitt is the result of his greater vocal range. Not to mention, his voice projects a more "rock" sound than does Greg X Volz.
